"Rights and Romance" - images for Gypsy and Traveller Collections exhibition, Leeds University

View Printable Version

These ten paintings and drawings have been chosen by members of Yorkshire-based Gypsy and Traveller families to feature in a special exhibition, “Rights and Romance,” which will open in March 2018 at the University of Leeds.

We want visitors to the exhibition to understand the stories behind these images and we need your help! Please share with us your thoughts, memories and impressions so we can interpret the pictures for our visitors and enable them to learn more about Gypsy life. We’d like your words to become part of the exhibition.

Many thanks again to the Gypsyville Facebook group, members of the Cunningham, Hanrahan, Mulvanny, Rennard and Taylor families, and to Leeds GATE for all their help so far.
