These images are very evocative and they stimulate so many questions. Who designed the Braille watch and were the blind or partially-sighted returning servicemen involved? Who is the person in the Tonks sketch? What was it like to undergo plastic surgery after WWI? How did women's lives change after the war once a different kind of civilian life started again? Were the soldiers all trained to use medical equipment like stretchers? The images are great starting points for stories exploring these themes.
